Anorexia is characterized by an extreme restriction of calories or food. Sufferers often believe themselves to be fat even when they are not. Sometimes, they may become very malnourished or appear to be extremely underweight. However, you cannot always tell rather an individual is anorexic just by looking at them.
Bulimia is a cycle of overeating (binging) and then compensating (purging) by not eating, exercising excessively laxative use, or self-induced vomiting.
Binge Eating Disorder is characterized by periods of overeating or binging. But, after overeating an individual does not purge or try to compensate for overeating.
